Advancing Educational Opportunities

Zonta believes the best way to empower women is enabling them to complete and further their education.

Our club provide study grants and mentoring support to young Central Coast women during their final year of school or tertiary study. Many of them are overcoming financial, family and social obstacles and go on to shine in their chosen career and lives.

Celebrating Women of Achievement

Bi-annually Zonta hosts a dinner to promote successful women, particularly those that have achieved milestones in spite of many hurdles.

These events inspire women and girls in our community to strive for gender equality and equal opportunity through hearing real-life stories from women they admire.

We also join with other service organizations to recognize the contributions of community volunteers.

The Didi Foundation

The Didi Foundation Inc. is an example of an international organisation supported by Zonta Central Coast members. The Didi Foundation was founded by Central Coast Zonta member Jan Pryor. This organisation works in Nepal to provide free vocational education to disadvantaged women, who have never had the opportunity to either attend school or reach their full potential through education. The young women are taught sewing, computer skills, beauty therapy, as well as numeracy and literacy skills.
